Amish Poor Man’s Steak (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 small Onion, chopped finely.
02 - 1 lb Ground Beef, uncooked.
03 - 1 tsp Salt to season.
04 - ¼ tsp Black Pepper, ground fresh.
05 - 1 cup Milk to hold it all together.
06 - 1 cup Cracker Crumbs, crushed fine.
07 - 1 (10.5 oz) can Water or Broth.
08 - 1 (10.5 oz) can Cream of Mushroom Soup.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix ground beef, milk, cracker crumbs, salt, pepper, and onion together in a bowl until it all comes together.
02 - Form the meat mixture into a loaf, cover it up, and let it chill in the fridge overnight.
03 - Cut the cold loaf into ½-inch slices or patties, then lightly coat them with flour.
04 - In a hot pan, cook the slices over medium-high heat until they’re golden on both sides.
05 - Stir together the mushroom soup and the water or broth in a bowl until smooth.
06 - Put the fried slices into a baking dish, pour the mushroom mixture over them, and bake at 350°F for an hour, until thick and bubbly.
07 - Pile it on top of mashed potatoes or egg noodles, spooning plenty of gravy over everything.
