Lemon Cheese Dessert (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, gives a tangy kick to the filling.
02 - 2 tbsp lemon zest, brightens up the filling with citrus flavor.
03 - 1 large egg, helps hold the filling together.
04 - 1 cup powdered sugar, makes the filling sweet and silky.
05 - 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened to give the filling a smooth texture.
06 - 1/2 tsp salt, enhances the balance of flavors in the base.
07 - 2 cups all-purpose flour, forms the structure of the crust.
08 - 1 tsp vanilla extract, gives the crust a warm, sweet aroma.
09 - 1 cup granulated sugar, sweetens and balances the crust.
10 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to make a flaky, buttery crust.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment or a light coat of grease.
02 - Mix the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in a big bowl until it's nice and smooth. Add the salt and flour slowly, stirring until everything comes together.
03 - Spread the crust mix evenly in the prepared pan. Pop it in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the edges look golden. Let it cool for a bit.
04 - In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add the egg, lemon zest, and lemon juice, then mix until it's all blended well.
05 - Pour the cream cheese mixture over the slightly cooled crust. Bake again for 15-20 minutes until the filling sets and edges get lightly golden.
06 - Let the bars cool completely in the pan. Chill them in the fridge for at least an hour before slicing into pieces to serve.
