Tender Stove Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 tablespoons of canola or vegetable oil, split up.
02 - 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless (weighing about 1 pound total).
03 - Non-stick cooking spray.
04 - A pinch of salt and a dash of ground black pepper.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon of sweet or smoked paprika.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil.
09 - 2 tablespoons of plain butter, also split up.

# Instructions:

01 - Pour 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of the vegetable oil into a big skillet and warm it over medium-high heat.
02 - After drying the chicken, rub some oil on it. Mix the seasoning blend and thoroughly rub it on both sides.
03 - Put two chicken breasts in the pan and cook them for about 5 to 7 minutes without touching. Flip them over, toss in 1 tablespoon butter, and cook for another 7 minutes or until the inside reaches 165°F.
04 - Take out the first two cooked chicken breasts and cover them up to keep warm. Use the same steps to cook the remaining pieces with the remaining butter.
05 - Let the chicken cool down for five minutes before slicing and dishing it up.

# Notes:

01 - If your chicken is thicker than 1 inch, it won’t cook evenly.
02 - Vegetable oil holds up better at high heat for this recipe.
03 - Avoid moving the chicken around while it cooks if you want a good crust.
