Fried Pork Chops Gravy (Print)

Crispy pork chops served with creamy bacon gravy. Southern comfort in under 40 minutes.

# Ingredients:

→ Pork Chops

01 - 1 cup plain flour
02 - 4 boneless pork chops, about 1/2 inch thick
03 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
04 - A pinch of cayenne pepper, if you like it spicy
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
06 - Salt and black pepper, adjust to preference
07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - 1/2 cup of milk
10 - 1/2 cup cooking oil for frying

→ Bacon Gravy

11 - 2 tablespoons plain flour
12 - 4 slices of bacon, diced up
13 - Salt and pepper to your liking
14 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
15 - 2 cups of whole milk

# Steps:

01 - In a shallow bowl, mix the flour with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Whisk eggs and milk together in a separate bowl to make the dip.
02 - Take each pork chop and cover it in the seasoned flour. Dip it in the egg mixture, then get it back into the flour. Let them sit for 5-10 minutes so the coating sticks better.
03 - Warm up oil in a big frying pan over medium heat. Cook the chops for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, until browned and fully cooked inside (145°F). Put them on paper towels to soak up any extra oil.
04 - Use the same pan to crisp up the bacon pieces. Save 2 tablespoons of the grease and take out the bacon bits. Mix the flour into the hot grease and cook it a little.
05 - Slowly whisk in the milk till it's smooth and creamy. Simmer for a few minutes until it thickens. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss the crispy bacon bits back in before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Let those coated chops sit a bit before frying for a better crust
02 - You can add some chicken stock if you want thinner gravy
03 - This goes great with mashed potatoes, greens, or green beans
