Homemade Chili Dogs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Beef Chili

01 - A pound of 85/15 ground beef
02 - A teaspoon of olive oil
03 - One medium-sized onion, finely diced
04 - Two garlic cloves, chopped up small
05 - A couple tablespoons of tomato paste
06 - A 14-ounce can of crushed tomatoes
07 - A cup of beef stock
08 - A teaspoon of yellow mustard

→ Seasonings

09 - A tablespoon of paprika
10 - A tablespoon of chili powder
11 - A teaspoon of ground cumin
12 - A teaspoon of onion powder
13 - A sprinkle of oregano
14 - A tiny dash of cinnamon

→ Assembly

15 - Hot dogs (12 total)
16 - 12 buns for the hot dogs
17 - Grated cheddar cheese
18 - Chopped red onions (if you’d like)
19 - Pickle slices (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Brown the beef with the onions and garlic. Toss in your seasonings and tomato paste.
02 - Pour in the liquids and let it cook on low for 30 minutes to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until it thickens up.
03 - Get the hot dogs grilled for 7 to 10 minutes over medium heat. Pop the buns on for a quick toast right before serving.
04 - Start with a layer of mustard in the bun, put in your hot dog, spoon on the chili, sprinkle with cheese, and add any extras if you want.
