Tender beef and peppers stir-fried in a deliciously savory Asian sauce. Serve over soft rice for an easy, satisfying meal anytime.

# Ingredients:

→ Rice Base

01 - 2 cups (400g) of brown or white rice, already cooked

→ Main Components

02 - 2 tablespoons of oil for cooking
03 - 1 pound (450g) of beef (ground, flank steak, or sirloin)
04 - 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
05 - 1 tablespoon of minced ginger (optional)
06 - 1 onion, cut into thin strips
07 - 2 bell peppers, sliced thinly (pick any colors you like)

→ Sauce

08 - 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
09 - 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
10 - 1/2 cup (120ml) broth (chicken or beef)
11 - 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce
12 - 1/4 teaspoon of chili flakes for heat (optional)
13 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
14 - 1 teaspoon of honey or sugar for sweetness

→ Garnish

15 - Chopped green onions
16 - Sprinkle of sesame seeds

# Steps:

01 - Cut steak thinly, going across the grain. Skip this step if using ground beef.
02 - Grab a small bowl and stir together all the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, hoisin, oyster sauce, sesame oil, honey, chili flakes (if you're adding them), and broth.
03 - In a big frying pan over medium-high heat, add a spoon of oil. Cook the beef until it browns—about 3-4 minutes for steak, or 5-6 minutes if it's ground. Take it out once it's done.
04 - Use the same pan and toss in the rest of the oil. Add onions, peppers, garlic, and ginger. Stir and cook for a few minutes, just until they soften but still have a little crunch.
05 - Put the beef back into the pan, pour in the sauce, and mix everything well. Let it cook for a couple of minutes until the sauce thickens up slightly.
06 - Spoon some rice into bowls, pile the beef and veggies on top, then sprinkle on green onions and sesame seeds to finish.

# Notes:

01 - Swap out the beef for shrimp, tofu, or chicken if you'd like.
02 - Optional: Mix in broccoli or mushrooms to add more veggies.
03 - If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in a bit of cornstarch mixed with water as it simmers.
