Texas-Style Beans (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 6 pieces of bacon, diced up
02 - 1/2 cup of finely chopped white onion
03 - 2 cans (16 ounces each) of green beans, washed and drained
04 - 1/2 cup of chicken stock with less salt
05 - 1 tablespoon of minced garlic cloves

→ Seasonings

06 - 1 tablespoon of butter
07 - 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
08 - 1 teaspoon of white sugar
09 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt
10 - 1/4 teaspoon of crushed black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - In a big skillet, turn the heat to medium-high. Fry the chopped bacon pieces by stirring them a lot until they're crunchy—this'll take around 5 or 6 minutes.
02 - Throw in the diced onions and cook them with the bacon until they soften. This should take roughly 5 minutes.
03 - Toss in the green beans, chicken stock, garlic, butter, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Give it all a mix.
04 - Turn the heat to low, put on a cover, and let everything cook gently for about 10 minutes, making sure to stir it every once in a while.
05 - Taste what you've made! Add a bit more salt and pepper if you think it needs it. Serve it nice and warm.

# Notes:

01 - Go with a low-carb sweetener if you're sticking to keto
02 - Canned green beans have the most old-school flavor
03 - Watch the salt! Adjust as needed when using regular chicken broth
