Smoked Sausage & Mozzarella Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tablespoons oil
02 - 2 pounds smoked sausage, cut in 1/2 inch slices
03 - 2 pounds rigatoni pasta
04 - 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
05 - 1 tablespoon parsley flakes

→ Mozzarella Cheese Sauce

06 - 4 tablespoons butter
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
09 - 4 tablespoons flour
10 - 2 cups milk
11 - 1 teaspoon salt
12 - 1 teaspoon paprika
13 - 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
14 - 1 cup heavy cream

# Instructions:

01 - Start water boiling for pasta (salt if desired). Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and return to pot, off heat.
02 - Heat oil in large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and fry until slightly browned. Remove from heat.
03 - In saucepan over medium-high heat, melt butter with garlic powder and onion powder. Add flour and cook for 3 minutes.
04 - Whisk in milk and cook 3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium. Add salt and paprika. Gradually whisk in cheese until incorporated. Add heavy cream and let bubble 2 minutes.
05 - Add cooked sausage and cheese sauce to pasta. Stir until fully coated. Serve with sprinkle of red pepper flakes and parsley.
