Asian Pulled Pork (Print)

Juicy pork cooked slow with a sweet and salty Asian-style sauce featuring honey, soy, and ginger. Perfect for various dishes.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Parts

01 - 4 or 5 garlic cloves
02 - 2 to 2 1/2 pounds of pork tenderloin (can use shoulder or butt too)

→ The Sauce

03 - 1/4 cup honey
04 - 1/3 cup regular soy sauce
05 - 1 tablespoon of dark soy (swap with maple syrup or molasses if needed)
06 - 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
07 - 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
08 - Grated ginger, about 1 tablespoon
09 - 1 to 2 teaspoons red chili flakes (optional)
10 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch

# Steps:

01 - Start by putting the pork in your slow cooker and scatter the garlic cloves on top or around it.
02 - In a little bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, dark soy, sesame oil, vinegar, ginger, cornstarch, and chili flakes if using.
03 - Pour the sauce mixture over the pork. Toss it a little to coat it fully—it’s fine if not all of it sits in the sauce.
04 - Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 4 hours, or crank it to high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until the pork is super tender and can be easily pulled apart.
05 - Take out the garlic cloves. Use a fork to shred the meat. Turn the slow cooker to high and let it warm thoroughly before serving however you’d like—on sliders, with rice, or over noodles.

# Notes:

01 - For big pork cuts, cooking for 8–10 hours on low works best.
02 - Swap different vinegars if needed.
03 - Toss in some shredded carrots and cabbage for extra crunch.
