Peach Crumble Bars (Print)

These bars have fresh peaches mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg, all set between buttery crumbs. They’re a lovely option anytime.

# Ingredients:

01 - A pinch of salt, about 1/4 teaspoon.
02 - Use 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.
03 - 1 cup of plain white sugar.
04 - 2 cups of regular all-purpose flour.
05 - 1 cup of chilled butter, cut into cubes.
06 - 1 large egg.
07 - 4 cups of peeled peach slices.
08 - 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.
09 - 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar.
10 - 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
11 - 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
12 - Two teaspoons of cornstarch.

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with grease.
02 - Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a bowl. Work in the cold butter and an egg using your hands or a pastry blender until it gets crumbly. Press half of this into the greased pan as a solid layer.
03 - Place the peach slices in another bowl and mix them with lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and the brown sugar. Stir until they're evenly coated.
04 - Cover the crust in the pan with the peach mixture, then sprinkle the rest of the crumbly dough on top so it’s evenly spread.
05 - Pop it in the oven for about 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and the peaches are bubbling. Let it cool fully before slicing into squares.
