Oat Chocolate Bars (Print)

Enjoy chewy oat bars layered with chocolate and caramel. Perfect for anytime you want a sweet, satisfying treat.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1½ cups caramel sauce.
02 - ½ tsp salt.
03 - 1½ cups unsalted butter, melted.
04 - ½ cup chopped pecans (optional).
05 - 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats.
06 - 2 cups all-purpose flour.
07 - 1½ cups brown sugar, packed.
08 - 1 tsp baking soda.
09 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch pan, then line it with some parchment paper to make lifting it out easy.
02 - Combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, salt, and baking soda in a big bowl.
03 - Pour in the melted butter and stir until you get a crumbly texture.
04 - Firmly press half of the crumb mixture into the pan you prepared earlier. Bake it for about 10 minutes, or until it's just starting to turn golden.
05 - With the crust baked, scatter the chocolate chips and pecans (optional) across the surface. Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the top, spreading it out smoothly.
06 - Take the rest of the oat mixture and sprinkle it over the caramel layer. Press it down lightly to help it stick together.
07 - Put the pan back in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. It’s ready when the top turns golden, and the caramel starts bubbling along the edges.
08 - Let it cool all the way down before slicing it into squares and enjoying.

# Notes:

01 - These caramel bars pack layers of gooey caramel, chocolate, and a crumbly oat crust in every bite.
02 - Make sure to let them cool completely so the caramel sets nicely and doesn't run out when you cut them.
