Creamy Garlic Shrimp (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Shrimp Prep

01 - 1 tsp lemon juice
02 - Salt and pepper for seasoning
03 - 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, deveined and peeled
04 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
05 - 1 tbsp olive oil
06 - 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

→ To Garnish

07 - Extra Parmesan for sprinkling
08 - 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped up

→ For the Sauce

09 - Salt and pepper for flavor
10 - 4 minced garlic cloves
11 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter
12 - 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
13 - 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
14 - 1/2 cup (50g) shredded Parmesan cheese

→ Cooking the Pasta

15 - 12 oz (340g) pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or linguine)
16 - 1/2 tsp salt for boiling the water

# Instructions:

01 - Mix together paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss the shrimp in the spices until well-coated. Heat up olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until they're pink and no longer translucent. Take them out of the pan and set them aside.
02 - Salt a big pot of water and heat it to a boil. Cook the pasta from the package's instructions for 'al dente.' Keep aside 1/2 cup of the cooking water before draining and setting the pasta aside.
03 - Drop the butter into the same pan and let it melt over medium heat. Throw in the garlic and let it cook for a minute or two until it smells amazing. Pour in the cream and let it simmer gently. Stir in the Parmesan until it’s melted and the sauce begins to thicken a bit. If you're using chili flakes, toss them in. Finish with a splash of lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper.
04 - Combine the pasta with the sauce in the pan and toss until it’s coated nicely. If it looks too dry, pour in some of that reserved pasta water. Add the shrimp back into the mix and stir carefully.
05 - Serve up the pasta onto plates or bowls. Scatter some parsley and extra Parmesan over the top and enjoy right away!

01 - Switch heavy cream with half-and-half for something lighter.
02 - You can add mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, or spinach to the sauce to boost the veggies.
03 - To make it gluten-free, opt for gluten-free pasta.
