Give the rice a rinse until the water runs clear. Cook it with the measured water and salt until soft, then let it sit covered for 10 minutes.

Take the rice vinegar and sugar, mix them together, and stir into your cooked rice.

Line an 8x8 baking dish and press the rice into it. Chill it in the fridge for about an hour until it sets properly.

Cut your chilled rice into squares. Sprinkle on sesame seeds if you’d like.

Heat up the oil in a pan and fry each piece for 3-4 minutes per side until nice and crispy.
