Italian Crescent Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Essentials

01 - 2 tubes of store-bought crescent dough
02 - 1/2 pound provolone cheese, thinly sliced
03 - 1/2 pound deli-style ham slices
04 - 1/2 pound salami slices
05 - 1/2 cup of pepperoni slices
06 - 1/2 cup of drained and sliced banana peppers
07 - 1/2 cup of roasted red peppers, drained and chopped
08 - 1 tablespoon of dried Italian herbs
09 - 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
10 - 1/4 cup regular olive oil
11 - Optional: tomato and lettuce slices for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Start by setting your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it warms up while you prep.
02 - Take one crescent dough roll, spread it out in a greased 9x13-inch dish. Push the seams together and make sure it slightly goes up the edges.
03 - Place half the slices of ham, salami, and provolone evenly over the crescent bottom.
04 - Scatter the sliced roasted red peppers, banana pepper rings, and pepperoni over the layered meats and cheese.
05 - Sprinkle Italian herbs evenly over the pepper and pepperoni layer.
06 - Top it all off with the remaining slices of provolone, salami, and ham.
07 - Spread the second crescent roll on top, pinching the edges gently to seal everything in.
08 - Use a pastry brush to coat the top layer of dough with olive oil. Then, sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over it.
09 - Pop your dish into the already heated oven and let it bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the crescent topping turns golden and the cheese underneath is bubbling.
10 - Cool for a few minutes before slicing into hand-held squares. Add fresh lettuce and tomato slices if you like a little something extra on the side.

# Notes:

01 - Keep leftovers fresh by storing them in a lidded container in the fridge for no more than 3 days. Use a microwave or oven to rewarm before enjoying again.
02 - To freeze, wrap the cooled dish tightly in both plastic wrap and foil. Add a date label and keep frozen for up to 4 weeks. Defrost in the fridge overnight before reheating.
03 - Ensure the crescent dough completely covers the base and sides to stop any fillings from spilling during baking.
04 - Arrange the meat, vegetables, and cheese evenly, so each bite is balanced and flavorful.
