Cook the ground beef and finely chopped onion in a pan. When it's fully browned, strain any grease.

Add marinara sauce into the beef mixture. Sprinkle in some salt and pepper to suit your taste. The filling is done.

Stir sour cream and mozzarella together in a bowl until it’s smooth and creamy.

In a 2 1/2 quart oven dish, spread the beef mixture for the bottom layer. Cover that with the cheese combo for the middle layer.

Carefully stretch out the crescent dough and lay it over the entire surface of the cheese layer.

Mix grated parmesan with the melted butter in a small dish. Brush or drizzle this all over the dough.

Pop it in a 375°F oven for about 20-25 minutes, until the top turns golden brown and the filling is bubbling up nicely.
