Cider Donuts Delight (Print)

Crispy spiced donuts with a soft, apple-infused center. Great for cold mornings and fall celebrations!

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 tsp cinnamon, ground.
02 - ½ tsp baking soda.
03 - ½ tsp nutmeg, ground.
04 - ¼ tsp cloves, ground.
05 - 2 cups plain flour.
06 - 1 large egg.
07 - 1 tsp baking powder.
08 - ¼ tsp salt.
09 - 1 cup apple cider.
10 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
11 - ½ cup buttermilk.
12 - 1 tsp vanilla extract.
13 - ¼ cup softened butter, unsalted.
14 - Cinnamon Sugar Coating: Mix together ½ cup sugar and 1 tbsp ground cinnamon.

# Steps:

01 - Pour the apple cider into a small pot and let it simmer on medium heat. Cook until it’s reduced down to ¼ cup, for about 10-15 minutes. Cool it off before using.
02 - Grab a medium-sized bowl and whisk together flour, salt, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon until well blended.
03 - Use a large mixing bowl to beat the butter and sugar until the mixture’s fluffy. Add the egg, then mix in the buttermilk, vanilla, and cooled apple cider until everything’s smooth.
04 - Slowly stir the dry mix into the wet ingredients. Keep mixing until you get a sticky dough texture.
05 - Cover the dough and stick it in the fridge for at least an hour. You’ll want it firm enough to roll later.
06 - Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about a half-inch thick. Grab two round cutters or a donut cutter and start shaping the donuts.
07 - Get your oil heated to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pot or fryer. Fry the donuts in small batches, letting each side cook for 1-2 minutes until crispy and browned.
08 - Toss the warm donuts into the cinnamon-sugar combo right after frying. Enjoy them while they’re still warm!

# Notes:

01 - Hint: Cold dough is easier to roll and holds shape better when frying.
02 - The donuts taste their best when eaten warm and fresh.
