Chicken Chow Mein Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 12 ounces of chow mein noodles, uncooked
02 - 1 lb chicken breast, no bone or skin
03 - 3 tbsp cooking oil

→ Vegetables

04 - 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
05 - 1 carrot, sliced thinly into sticks
06 - About 2 cups of cabbage, shredded
07 - Half a bunch of green onions, sliced small

→ Sauce

08 - 3 tbsp soy sauce, low sodium
09 - 1 tbsp corn starch
10 - 6 tbsp of oyster sauce
11 - 1 tbsp sugar, granulated
12 - Half a cup of chicken broth
13 - 3 tbsp light sesame oil

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a small bowl and stir together sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, oyster sauce, and chicken broth until smooth.
02 - Boil the chow mein as per the directions on its package. Rinse with cold water after draining and set aside.
03 - Heat up the oil in a big skillet or wok on medium. Slice the chicken into thin pieces and cook until golden. Take it out and put aside.
04 - Using the same pan, cook garlic, cabbage, and carrots on medium heat until they're soft and the cabbage looks slightly clear.
05 - Toss the noodles and chicken back into the veggies. Pour the sauce over it all and stir. Let it cook for a few minutes so it's hot and blended.
06 - Sprinkle sliced green onions over the top and serve it up hot straight from the pan.

# Notes:

01 - If the noodles come pre-cooked, use around 1 pound.
02 - Make sure you pick light sesame oil (not the toasted kind) for a better, lighter taste.
