# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large egg, at room temperature.
02 - 1 cup softened butter.
03 - 1 tsp pure vanilla extract.
04 - 1 cup powdered sugar.
05 - 1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped.
06 - 2 cups diced candied cherries (red and green).
07 - 2 1/4 cups regular all-purpose flour.

# Instructions:

01 - Whip the soft butter and powdered sugar together until fluffy. This should take about 3 minutes.
02 - Add the egg and vanilla, then mix until everything looks smooth.
03 - Slowly add the flour, stirring until the dough forms properly.
04 - Using a wooden spoon, gently mix in the chopped walnuts and colorful candied cherries.
05 - Roll the dough into an 18-inch log shape on parchment paper. Wrap it snugly and chill for at least 1 hour in the fridge.
06 - Turn on the oven to 325°F and get a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
07 - Slice the chilled dough into rounds about 1/4 inch thick, placing them about an inch apart on the tray.
08 - Pop them in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, just until the edges look a little golden.
09 - Leave cookies on the baking tray for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool off completely.
