Apple Cinnamon Caramel Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Dough

01 - 8 ounces (1 cup) of softened unsalted butter
02 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
03 - 1/2 cup white sugar
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
06 - 2 cups regular-purpose flour
07 - 1 small spoonful of baking soda
08 - 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, ground
09 - A pinch (1/2 teaspoon) of salt
10 - 1 cup apples, diced and peeled
11 - 1/2 cup crushed nuts (you can skip if you want)

→ Caramel Drizzle

12 - 1/2 cup ready-made caramel sauce
13 - Optional: Sea salt for a topping sprinkle

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven and set it to 350°F (175°C). Get some parchment paper and line your baking pans with it.
02 - Whip up the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together till fluffy. Then mix in the egg along with vanilla.
03 - In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Carefully add this mix to the wet stuff, stopping when just blended.
04 - Stir in those apple chunks and crushed nuts gently. Don’t overmix!
05 - Scoop dough by heaping tablespoons onto the lined pans. Leave about 2 inches between each. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until you see golden edges.
06 - Let the cookies settle for about 5 minutes while still on the sheets. Transfer to a cooling rack and let them cool completely. Pour over caramel and finish with a bit of sea salt if you like.

# Notes:

01 - Use apples that are firm with a slightly tart flavor to get the best texture.
02 - Wait until you're ready to eat before adding the caramel on top.
03 - If you’re going for nuts, pecans or walnuts are the best choices.
