Bacon Cheese Doritos Balls (Print)

A creamy bacon-cheddar filling surrounded by a crunchy layer of crushed Doritos. These fried bites make the best party crowd-pleasers.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
02 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
03 - 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
04 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
05 - ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
06 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
07 - ½ teaspoon black pepper

→ Coating

08 - ½ cup all-purpose flour
09 - 1 tablespoon milk
10 - 2 large eggs, beaten
11 - 2 cups crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos (into fine crumbs)

→ Frying

12 - 2 cups vegetable oil

# Steps:

01 - In a mixing bowl, blend together the softened cream cheese, cheddar, bacon bits, garlic and onion powders, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir until smooth, then pop it in the fridge for 20 minutes to chill.
02 - Take a tablespoon of the chilled mix and roll it into a ball using your hands. Place each ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Freeze for about 15-20 minutes till they firm up.
03 - Get three shallow bowls ready: one with crushed Doritos, another with flour, and the last one containing the beaten eggs and milk mixed together.
04 - Roll a chilled ball in the flour, then dip it in the egg and milk mixture. Finally, coat it well with Doritos crumbs while pressing slightly to make it stick.
05 - Heat your oil to 350°F (175°C), then fry a batch at a time. Cook each ball for about 1-2 minutes until it's golden and crispy. Scoop them out with a slotted spoon and set them on paper towels to drain.

# Notes:

01 - Serve them right away while they’re hot and crunchy.
02 - You can prepare and coat the balls earlier, then fry them later just before eating.
03 - A hit for parties, game nights, or as starters.
