Slow Cooker Pulled Pork (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 to 2.5 pounds of pork (shoulder or tenderloin works well)
02 - 4-5 garlic cloves

→ Sauce

03 - 1/3 cup soy sauce
04 - 1/4 cup honey or syrup
05 - 1 tablespoon sesame oil
06 - 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
07 - 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
08 - 1 tablespoon dark soy (swap with molasses or maple syrup, if needed)
09 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
10 - Optional: 1-2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper flakes for heat

# Instructions:

01 - Put the pork into the slow cooker, scattering garlic cloves all around.
02 - Whisk together soy sauce, honey, dark soy, sesame oil, vinegar, ginger, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes in a little mixing bowl.
03 - Drizzle the sauce over the pork, turning it around to coat the surface (it doesn’t need to be completely covered).
04 - Set the slow cooker on high for 2-2.5 hours or low for 4 hours until the pork gets super tender and falls apart easily.
05 - Toss out the garlic cloves. Break the pork apart with forks, and give it a little extra high heat cooking to warm everything up. Pair it with noodles, rice, or pop it into sliders or tacos.

# Notes:

01 - If your pork is a bigger cut, let it cook for 8-10 hours on low.
02 - You can use other vinegar types if rice wine isn’t handy.
03 - This goes so well with carrot and cabbage slaw mixed in.
