Fall Apple Cinnamon Cookies (Print)

Chewy cookies mixed with apple chunks and cinnamon, finished with a rich caramel topping. Optional sprinkle of sea salt for contrast.

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Dough

01 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
02 - 1 cup apples, peeled and chopped
03 - 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
04 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
05 - 1/2 cup sugar
06 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - 1 large egg
09 - 1 cup optional chopped nuts
10 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
11 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

→ Caramel Drizzle

12 - Optional sea salt for sprinkling
13 - 1/2 cup caramel sauce

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and cover baking trays with parchment paper.
02 - In another mixing bowl, toss together the flour, salt, ground cinnamon, and baking soda. Slowly mix it into your wet dough until it just comes together.
03 - Beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla until fluffy and creamy. Mix in the egg until smooth.
04 - Carefully stir in the nut pieces (if you're using them) and the apple chunks.
05 - Drop spoonfuls of dough on the lined pans, spacing them out a couple of inches. Let them bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are a light golden color.
06 - Let the cookies cool down on the baking tray for 5 minutes. Move them to a rack to cool fully. Add caramel drizzle on top, and sprinkle sea salt if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - Firm, tart apples are your best bet for good texture.
02 - Caramel drizzle should go on right before eating.
03 - Try pecans or walnuts if using nuts.
